Handbrake : Free and open source best Video Converter

Handbrake is an open source free Video Converter that converts from common multimedia files including un protected DVDs or Blu Ray sources to a large number of output formats. Its a cross platform available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS x .

  • Pango. The goal of Pango is to provide an open-source framework for the layout and rendering text into GNOME environments. GNOME environment is popular tool kit for the development of Graphical User Interface. Pango's major role is to provide localized text rendering. Open Source Softwares / Free softwares provides an alternative to the high cost Proprietary softwares. The software costing in hundreds of $$$ have alternative all over the internet. Here we are compiling Top 10 open source / free softwares. Only five of them are discussed here.



  • Linux. Linux is a popular operating system which is the best example of free and open source software. That means its not only free to use but its underlying source code is also available for modification, redistribution. Linux has many different distributions developed along with its progress.   • Mozilla. Mozilla is also both free and open source. It is free and cross platform Internet software suite that includes

    • an email client. Mozilla Thunderbird.
